Closed 31 Jan 2025

Opened 21 Nov 2024

Overview

Working together the local councils, health services and health and social care partnerships in Lothian have identified ways to improve our services, improve people’s life chances, eliminate discrimination and foster good relations.

Your views will help us know if these are what we should focus on for the next 4 years. You can share your views on all areas or just the ones you are interested in.

This survey is anonymous so please don’t tell us anything that could identify you or anyone you care for. You can read how we use your information in our privacy statement.

What happens next

A total of 221 people took part in the consultation, sharing their views on how the council and its partners across the Lothians should promote equality in key areas such as education, employment, living standards, health, justice and accessibility.

People told us they want action on bullying and harassment in schools, educational inequality, barriers to employment, homelessness, social isolation, hate crime and accessible information.

Over the next four years, the council will strengthen how prejudice-based bullying is tackled in schools, work to close attainment gaps and help more people gain skills and secure better jobs. We will continue to support those facing homelessness, communicate more inclusively and increase awareness around recognising, reporting and supporting victims of hate crime.
