Shape the Future of Independent Advocacy in Midlothian - staff

Closes 31 Jul 2025

Opened 24 Apr 2025

Overview

Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is developing their Strategy for Independent Advocacy 2026–2029 to:

  • Set priorities for access, equity, and quality of independent advocacy.
  • Support integration of independent advocacy in the services we deliver.
  • Reflect barriers and enablers.

We want to understand how independent advocacy fits into your work — especially with people who may be at risk of having their rights limited, or who would benefit from having an independent voice. As you work directly with people who use health, social care or support services, your insight is vital.

We have a legal duty to ensure that independent advocacy is available to people who need it in specific circumstances, particularly when this affects their decision-making ability about their care, welfare, or rights.

To meet that responsibility meaningfully, we need to hear from people who engage directly with clients every day or manage services— the people best placed to notice gaps, strengths, and opportunities in how independent advocacy is accessed and understood.

Whether you work in frontline care, manage services, social work, housing, mental health, or community services — your perspective matters.

Please do not share any personally identifiable information about yourself or the people you work with. Your responses will be anonymous and you can read our privacy statement.
