Closed 3 Oct 2025

Opened 1 Sep 2025

Overview

Midlothian Council is developing a new Local Housing Strategy (LHS), which will guide housing policy and investment across the area for the next five years. We want to hear your views to help shape our priorities.
Your responses are confidential and will only be used to inform the strategy.

The ideas received during the first consultation held between Monday 31 March and Friday 9 May 2025 have been added to the draft LHS. You can read the draft strategy here:

This final consultation asks you to consider your housing priorities for 2026/27 - 2030/31.

What happens next

Your priorities will be added to the draft Local Housing Strategy before the document is sent for a peer review (undertaken by another local authority and the Scottish Government). The final Local Housing Strategy will be presented to your elected members in early 2026.
