Shawfair 2-18 Education Consultation
Overview
We want to hear your views on the proposal to establish a new all through school and its associated catchment areas within the land at Shawfair and to realign the catchment areas of Danderhall Primary School and Dalkeith High School.
The statutory consultation begins on Thursday 26 March 2026 and ends on Wednesday 27 May 2026.
The proposals are:
- New primary and secondary school catchment areas will be established for the proposed Shawfair 2-18 Education Campus, and the catchment areas of Danderhall Primary School, and Dalkeith High School will be realigned
- A new all through school with early learning, primary and secondary learning, and specialist additional support needs (ASN) provision will be established for the proposed Shawfair 2-18 education campus catchment area
- The new all through school will open on its permanent site on the completion of the new building in August 2028 or as soon as possible thereafter

A realignment of the Danderhall Primary School Catchment Area and Dalkeith High School Catchment Area from August 2027.
