Active travel survey
Overview
We want to hear your views on the latest draft of ‘On the Move Midlothian: Our Active Travel Strategy for Everyone’, a copy of which you can download on this page (see related documents).
The draft active travel strategy, which includes measurable and achievable targets, focuses on making Midlothian a place where getting around in a way that makes you physically active, such as walking and wheeling, will be an easy, convenient, cheap and realistic option for all.
It has been shaped by feedback from a previous public and stakeholder consultation in 2021 that highlighted key priorities and routes/locations where demand for improved active travel infrastructure is high.
We are running this 12-week consultation in conjunction with a second consultation on the first two stages of the Local Transport Strategy development- the Local Transport Strategy Case for Change Report. You can find the link to this at the end of the Active Travel survey and on this page.
To find out how we handle your personal information when you complete the surveys, please read our Strategic Transport Planning Service privacy notice
Please note, if you are not able to read the full active travel strategy, you can still fill in the survey by referring to the key aims in some of the main questions. The questions also summarise the main points covered in the strategy.
Why your views matter
What you tell us will help us identify any gaps or omissions, which we will then use to inform the final version before it is published and adopted by the council.
What happens next
The findings of the consultation will be considered by councillors at a full Council meeting later in 2024. We will publish the results on Citizen Space and share on the council's website at www.midlothian.gov.uk/consultations and social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter).
